CNC Machinist - Aerospace Overhaul and Repair

Sunvair, Inc. is an FAA 145 Repair Station specializing in landing gear and hydraulic component overhaul for Boeing MD/DC, Boeing 7-series, Bombardier Q-400, and Lockheed applications. Currently we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled CNC machinist to support the production demands of our machine shop. The selected applicant will be responsible for fabrication of tooling, bushings, and bearings in accordance with company, customer, and OEM policies and procedures. Conventional mill and lathe machining experience a plus; including the ability to operate the following;

  • CNC (HAAS)
  • Bridgeport small mills

Responsibilities include;

  • Set up (Program) and machine raw stock according to blue print and drawing requirements
  • Set up and machine landing gear components in accordance with OEM/ CMM, drawing, and blue print requirements
  • May run one or more machines on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for ensuring that machine work meets dimensional tolerances as noted on shop planning and that defects are removed within specified limits. 
  • To inspect parts visually and dimensionally, and perform clean-up operations as required such as deburr and breaking of edges

Knowledge and Skill Requirements;

  • The ability to read, write and understand English
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to read and understand OHM/ CMM's, blueprints, shop travelers and sketches
  • Ability to identify various alloys
  • Must be able to perform measurments using inspection tools such as, but not limited too; micrometers, and indicators
  • General knowledge of set-up, loading and adjusting machines and equipment
  • Practical experience with the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials, tools and equipment generally used in the work for which the repair station is rated.
